Episode #37: Our Relationship with Food Reflects Our Relationship with Life. Is the Mirror Broken?

Is who we see in the mirror- authentically who we are, or is it an image of self-imposed expectations of what one should look like or be? Why is our physical appearance so frequently associated with happiness and success?  Recently a young client told me, "I know what's holding me back from having a boyfriend, I need to lose weight!" For years she had been yo-yo dieting, restricting her eating, and presently gaining weight. It was not just wreaking havoc on her body; it was also wreaking havoc on her self-worth.

Today's guest is Sara Young Wang, an extraordinary career coach, writer, and podcaster

She is also my client. Both Sara and I share a backstory of disordered eating. I struggled with anorexia and bulimia in my teens and twenties, while Sara's journey started at ten. Today we have the honor of assisting women in transforming their lives- body, mind, and sweet soul.  During today's THLZ podcast, Sara and I will explore the following and much, much more!

• How do we sit with what we feel when it's uncomfortable?

• How do we discern between our physical and emotional hunger?

• Where is this discomfort stemming from in our lives if we're not feeling comfortable in our bodies?

• And, how has food become the critical factor?
